Dental Clinic Plaster Trap

How to Replace the Plaster Trap Liner

We have been using Henry Schein Halas Plaster pail for three years in Pure Dentistry Brisbane and we found it to be good and efficient in trapping and collecting plaster.

Replace Liner before the Pail is Full

We try to replace the liner before the pail is full. Because it is so much easier to replace it early. On the other side the pail cannot collect plasters if the bucket does not provide sufficient space for the plaster to settle. Plaster does not get trapped in a pail which is almost full. You can see here that we were late to replace the liner the first time.

Plaster Level Indicator

It would be beneficial to have a monthly checklist and the staff can go through the checklist every month and monitor the level of the plaster in the pail. Staff shall report back as soon as level is high. So management can call the plumber for the replacement of the liner inside the pail.

Plaster Level Inspection Checklist

See checklist below as an example of how a level inspection checklist may look like. Our inspection frequency is every six months in the year it was replaced and then every three (3) months in the following year.

The Size of our Plaster Trap
